Our Family Storybook is not a genealogy research site. It is a means of framing, presenting and sharing your family’s story by creating an interactive web site that uniquely and compelling showcases your family history.
You can create a book, but you cannot create a web site during the trial period. Our Family Storybook gives you a full week to show you how easy and engaging this site is to use. If you decide to join there are two membership options tailored to your needs.
Editorial, design and programming services are available for those who want help in using artwork or writing copy specifically for their needs. Custom built code is also available. Cost depends on the size of the project.
Only you and your chosen guests have access to your information. You also have the ability to restrict your guest’s access to certain information or archives. The security option settings are; Private, Password protected and Public.
If you need to contact us, use the Help link in the sites footer or email us at legacy@ourfamilystorybook.com or use the contact form. But your answer might already be in Forums. In Forums you can post your question and tap into the collective knowledge of the genealogy community.
Once this page goes live, Our Family Storybook will be offering Genealogy and family reunion related merchandise. Using our services, you can also buy custom artwork, editorial and programming services. Watch for News on the development of our Shop.

As you are aware, genealogy research takes time, dedication and patience. We at Our Family Storybook appreciate the time and energy you have put into your research. As your research grows, the story will probably evolve with contributions from others. Monthly memberships are for those who may need just months to complete their project. Yearly memberships are for those who realize that genealogy is an on-going and expanding process and want to develop a relationship with our online community, plan family reunions and continue to update their web site as research develops.

Yes, you can import images from online stock photography sites. Remember that the images may have to be resized for the web or book application. To know what resolution is needed for each application, visit the Technical Details Page for additional information.
Yes. Hosting is included in your membership.
You can upload the following file formats: GEDCOM, Excel or text delimited. You will also have the option of using our on-site genealogy database to build your family tree. Visit the Technical Details Page for additional information.
Most likely, yes. However, you will need to check with those services to confirm file sharing capabilities.
Multimedia files are “linked” to your web projects, not uploaded. Regardless, multimedia must be optimized for the web whether it’s video or audio. For more information, see our Links page and the media specifications Page.
Not always. Educate yourself. Most images from the Internet are copyrighted and cannot be used unless you have a release from the owner of the image. Images from online stock photo and image galleries will have their own Terms and Conditions. Our Family Storybook will not be responsible for unlawful use of any copyrighted material used by you. There are several online book publishers that will be recommended once the Book Application is fully developed. After you create your book on Our Family Storybook, the generated .pdf will be sent to a chosen publisher to be printed.

Yes, however it is recommended that you start with one book. As you become familiar with the process and have worked out any issues, you can create as many projects as you want.

After your book or e-book has been completed, you have many options to sell your book through online resources (examples below). If your book is accepted and sold by an online retailer, it must first be assigned an International Standard Book Number (ISBN). An ISBN is available through Lulu.com and other online sources. Prices vary.
Take your finished manuscript in PDF format (including the cover) and upload it to a website service of your choice. You can also search our Book Application Forum for advice from other members.

Any visitor can view the Forums and Family Reunion communities. You must be a member however, if you want to participate in forum discussions or plan your family reunion on our site.
Members and their guests are given access to the Family Reunion Calendar where they can plan, schedule and organize their reunion while keeping family and interested parties instantly informed. Visit our Tutorials Page for details.
Other family members are called “guests”. Guests can be granted different levels of access, from simply viewing information to a fully participating member with the ability to update and add information. As a member, you control the level of access a guest has. Guest access is free and they are not subject to membership fees however, guests cannot create new web or book projects unless they have a membership of their own.
